Project Colonial: Before and After
If you guys have been keeping up with us on Instagram, you would have seen this very exciting project we have been working on for the past few months! The final photographs are finally edited and we have decided to do a fun Before and After post to show you all the updated rooms and the drastic changes! Our client was inspired by sophisticated, french style, so we incorporated a lot of moody, bold colours, antique brass and french inspired accents!
Before: Kitchen
Kitchen: After
We tore down the wall that was dividing the previous kitchen from the dining area and created a bigger kitchen with an eat in area. This way, the whole back of the house feels way more open and spacious and allows for more storage and a bigger working and entertaining area!
We love the black cabinets...it turned out amazing! Especially paired with these antique brass cup pulls and knobs.
We incorporated two open shelves with these amazing iron brackets we found on Anthropologie!
We carried the black throughout the room and used it on the island chairs, the eat in table kitchen chairs as well as the sliding barn door hardware that leads to the laundry room and powder room.
This antique runner just adds the right amount of colour and ties the whole space together!
Before: Laundry Room
After: Laundry Room
We opted for some fun and bright coloured cabinets and redid the checkerboard floor in marble tiles. This layout for the laundry room is so much more functional!
The pops of black in this laundry room keep everything grounded and cohesive with the kitchen in the next room over.
Soo much better! We wouldn't even mind doing laundry if this was our laundry room!
Before: Powder Room
After: Powder Room
The powder room needed a much needed makeover and we think this red vanity really did the trick!
We were inspired by the bold interiors in French design that used red to convey drama. This bold red colour ended up working so well with the brass faucet and drop pulls.
Before: Living and Dining Room
After: Living Room
We converted this space into a living and dining room and the layout is now a much better use of the space. The floors got a refresh and the walls got a fresh new coat of a moody grey paint!
These darker colours were perfect for the sophistication our client wanted for her new living/dining area.
Thanks for tuning in and we hope you enjoyed our before and after post on Project Colonial!
